Copper For Kids
The Copper for Kids campaign was established to raise funds to place and support the more than 3,000 local children in foster care with permanent, loving families.
By collecting scrap copper and other recyclable materials from job sites – or making a donation – you and your company can make a lasting impact on the life of a child!
Ways to establish a Copper for Kids program at your jobsite:
- Notify your employees that your company is a Copper for Kids partner and get them involved
- Place a scrap materials box on job sites
- Collect recyclable materials, redeem, and donate the proceeds to Stanford Sierra Youth & Families
- Name Stanford Sierra Youth & Families as your valuable resource for youth in foster care.

Who Is Stanford Sierra Youth & Families
Copper for Kids is a campaign of Stanford Sierra Youth & Families, and was founded over 11 years ago. It was established to raise funds to provide permanent loving families and support services to local children in foster care. Originally the campaign focused on enlisting the support of the construction industry to raise funds through recycling scrap copper and has now expanded to include more ways to help.
